Does the website phrase responsive design translate to good website design? Even if the graphical elements of the web page automatically re-size to the screen size, these adjusting display elements do not mean that the end user is interacting with a more effective user interface and screen design. Nor do these display-adjustments mean that the users will convert better and react positively to the marketing calls to action.
The users still need to be able to easily find the relevant contact information like phone number, email address and street address. The fonts needs to big enough to be read and the amount of scrolling required to find usable content needs to be manageable. The graphical images and photos need to have a marketing meaning and be understood by the user. From the standpoint of good website design, the standard set of design elements need to be taken into consideration:
- Graphical design
- Marketing call to action design
- Landing page design
- Navigational design
- Search engine optimization design
- Accessibility design
- Usability design
- Branding design
- Conversion design
- Target audiences design
- Mobile awareness design
As with most new marketing techniques, most of the prior techniques still apply.
