The Greater Philadelphia chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) bestowed the great honor of giving Nancy Vinkler the Board Member of the Year award at the annual 2004/2005 meeting on June 16, 2005.
Vinkler was honored in a room of more than 85 peer women business owners for her notable contribution to the launch of the new chapter website. As praised by Candy Roberts, the 2003-2005 chapter president, “She took charge and coordinated the efforts of four Chapter-member companies to bring about a site that exemplifies the professional nature of the organization in style and in functionality.” The site can be viewed at www.nawbophila.org.
WSI developed and hosts the base infrastructure of the site. The site contains WSI business technology such as Advanced Targeted Marketing Technology which allows the organization to collect (opt-in) user information and interests from the Contact US form; store in a database and send emails in mass to its extensive membership list informing them about chapter activities and events. It also contains an easy-to-use, content management system so the members of NAWBO, who are volunteers, can do their own maintenance of website content. Since the Philadelphia NAWBO chapter has at least two events per month, updating the website and informing the potential attendees about events is very strategic to the chapter’s communications. Now the organization has the Internet tools to do so and no longer has the monthly cost of a webmaster.
Vinkler served as the Technology Chair on the 2003/2005 board and will continue to serve in this capacity in the upcoming 2005/2007 year.
